Fix Baldur's Gate 3 Astarion Bug Astarion, the charming vampire companion in Baldur's Gate 3, has been experiencing a few kissing bugs since Patch 4. The first bug prevented him from kissing Tav altogether, while the second bug caused him to miss Tav's face and kiss the air instead. Larian Studios has released Hotfix #10 to address some of the bugs in Patch 4, including the Astarion kissing bug. However, the hotfix has not completely fixed the issue. Some players are still reporting that Astarion is kissing the air, while others are reporting that he is simply not interested in kissing Tav at all.

How to Fix bg3 Astarion Kissing Bug

There is no definite fix for the Patch 4 Astarion bug at the moment, but there are a few fixes by the Steam community you can try:

Roll back to Patch 3h9

This is the most reliable way to fix the Astarion bug, but it will mean losing any progress you have made since Patch 4.

To roll back to Patch 3h9, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your Baldur’s Gate 3 Steam library page.
  2. Right-click on Baldur’s Gate 3 and select Properties.
  3. Click on the Betas tab.
  4. In the drop-down menu, select patch3h9.
  5. Click Close.
  6. Steam will download and install the Patch 3h9 update.
  7. Once the update is complete, you can launch Baldur’s Gate 3 and your save files from Patch 3h9 will be available.

Reload a previous save

This is the most common fix for the bug, and it usually works. Just reload a save from before you first encountered the bug, and then try to kiss Astarion again.  Some players have reported that reloading a save from before Patch 4 was released fixed the bug. If you have a save from before Patch 4, you can load that and Astarion should be able to kiss the player character normally.

Try different dialogue options

Some players have reported that choosing different dialogue options when talking to Astarion fixed the bug.

Try changing your character’s height

Some players have reported that the bug is caused by a height difference between their character and Astarion. Try changing your character’s height and then trying to kiss Asterion again.

Larian Studios is aware of the bug and is working on a fix. If you are unable to fix the bug using any of the above methods, you can try waiting for a future hotfix to be released.
